I'm planning on buying a 3ds xl this week which game should i buy? I want X or Y but X seems more funny to me but iirc X had less things in the game? Am i right? Should i buy ORAS too? Wtf do you reccomend?

The hatred for ORAS in this thread is real, but it's cute if you were a huge fan of the originals.
Pokémon has been around for almost two decades now, and has fans of all ages. It's insanely popular with kids but those who grew up with Pikachu and company still buy the games, invest in the merchandise and generally continue to hold a candle for the brand - despite its often shady history.
It would seem that The Pokémon Company has finally recognised this fact, and is publishing a Pokémon magazine which is aimed at adult fans. Named Pokémon Life (there goes our chance for a spin-off Pokémon site, then), this magazine features developer interviews, art showcases, merchandise offers and features on new and old games in the series.
The first issue is due out on July 30th and will cost 1,200 Yen. It comes with a poster and a Pikachu card case. Would you like to see something similar here in the West?
Which is better Skiddo/Gogoat or Quilladin line? I kinda don't love the grass starter in Kalos.
Depends on what you're looking for. Gogoat is mostly known for its Bulk Up set, making it an effective lategame sweeper. Chesnaught is generally used as a wall and/or spike setter, though you can use it as a Belly Drum sweeper if you're adventurous.

I feel this could lead to more gen v-esque games that have "character development".

But u hope that by really acknowledging adult fans they try to aim to increase the diffculty in some way

idk when the last time you attempted a new playthrough of any gen v game, but I can tell you from experience it literally takes like 20 ****ing minutes to finally catch your first pokemon. Even constantly spamming B doesn't alleviate the burden of having to sit through the "character development" and "story". Like Drip said, Pokemon has always been about the player's story; and if GF focused on this, it would take the games from its mediocrity to one with some substance.
It's not like characters besides important members of the evil oraganization and a few other important characters get much character development anyway. And it has been like this since gen 1. But involving gym leaders (and the E4 i guess) a bit itno the story makes them more memorable and makes the battles a bit more important. The "Hey, here is a new character, he/she is kinda important but after this 5 min battle you won't ever see them again" thing is boring.

The game has never really been about your story. It has been about your journey in pre set story you have no influence on.

I played 1,2 and 3 I then tried gen 4 and realised it was the same game again and saved my coins, don't be bitter you paid for the same game 6 times or 12 if you bought both versions, hunty.

If the last game you played was released 9 years ago, then why are you giving your opinion on recent developments? If you say that it is the same game again, then why are you commenting against making each new entry feel unique and memorable? Resembling the proverbial dog in the manger, neither eats nor allows others to do so.
