I love Applause it's one of her only radio friendly sings ... I mean it is her biggest radio hit .. Applause is only hated because it didn't hit number one on the 100 or Ichunes .. If it had you guys would be praising it ..
Lol Applause got a huge boost on Japanese iTunes and so did the album. Promo effect in Japan is usually short lived. I know as a Rih stan you are not used to dealing with Asian receipts since Rihanna can't even get enough demand in Japan to tour there (nor has she had a Platinum album there since GGGB: Reloaded) but like have a seat.
Rihanna has the best singles collection out of all the girls hands down. She makes the best songs, and has for a really long time now. She doesn't make the best albums tho. Her discog is choppy. Her first two mixtapes nobody cares for and TTT was trash. Pretty much 1/2 her discog is disposable.

if Rhena would have taken a break for 2 years LOUD wouldn't have been as successful that's fore sure, and she better be thankful for her smart team unlike Gaga's team who thought it was a good idea to release Applause as the lead single when it shouldn't have been on the album in the first place.
So what were her alternatives, exactly? "I live for the applause-applause" is arguably the least-threatening thing about the record.
