Rihanna's average: 4.2 million (I counted 30 million albums for her and I'm easily inflating her)

It's all about the amount of major label album releases

And Rih had the advantage of releasing before the 'digital era' where album sales were higher

Anyway seeing that Katy wasn't able to outsell Rihanna with a re-release, a movie, a 2 year span of promotion, 5 number ones during LOUD.
As she wasn't able to outsell Rihanna with more promotion and a Superbowl performance again with Prism. Rihanna clearly sells more albums

Regardless of her releasing annually she still sold more than Katy
What's more three of Rihanna's most recent albums sold more than Katy's first three album, so there goes the "digital age ********"
