It's as awkward as when you say goodbye to someone on an elevator but you didn't even fully reached your floor so you're just standing there, staring at the door.
I think since they use screenshots to give us examples of how the new forum will look like, they're making fake accounts and putting them into the situations that we would be on the new forum (like making a new thread, PMing)
