Question: Why was Sunday's night a bad time in general?
This went up against Football, and a few other very popular programs that a lot of people watch. Sunday is also not a great day for TV shows. Plus this is right before a holiday.
My friend who interns on Capital Hill put it better than I possibly could. She's more in favor of Bernie's ideas and ideologies but respects that Clinton's experience and demeanor make her the most presidential candidate.
She said if the Hillary that's been showing up to these debates is our president than I think she'll be a fantastic president. And I agree completely with her.
I think Hillary has had the most consistent debate performances, she carries herself in a manner that seems befitting of a president. She's well spoken on the issues.
However, my issue with Hillary is I don't have enough trust in her to follow through with so many of these policies that she's implemented because I genuinely don't know if she believes in anything she's talking about barring equal gender pay. Now you could probably cite her record to demonstrate her consistency or argue that she's willing and open minded enough to change perspective on key issues as times change. However, I think there's been enough inconsistency to make this a valid concern.
Bernie may not be able to get any of his policies passed through the Senate or the House. His ideas may be unfeasible or unrealistic but I've seen enough of him to have confidence that he fully believes in everything he's been campaigning about. With that said, he lacks qualities that Hillary has.
Like they said at the beginning of the debate: The party and voters now need to decide if they want continuity or radical change. It'll be very interesting to see how the first primaries go.
