Gerry ... I think she will definitely go gold because her label is really going to promote her I feel this time. I think they thought Feedback would be her return, which it should have been and they felt that they didn't need to promote her as much because the single would do the trick. It seems like they are reevaluating their promo for her by making Feedback her promo single (pulling the single from Itunes) and going with Luv and Rock Wit U as her releases. This is a solid album though so it would be a shame for her to flop with this.
I do think that she will sell 200K and will be able to hold on a couple weeks to go Gold. Platinum could go either way. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Fergie, Rihanna, Nelly actually had hits though and they have a hype around them
Janet's career just seems to be fading and her music isnt really what people like right now.

And we can keep going. But what helped the 3 i mentioned before were the awesome promo and singles. Unfortunately i don't think Janet will achieve success with singles anymore, even tho i really want her to.

True, but all 3 of those albums had a full tracklist of hits. Janet? "Feedback" will be the only hit I predict. This'll be like all her other eras where the 1st single peaks well, then the others are pratically ignored.

I think it'll be certified Gold, but for it to really sell 500k it'll have to do an As I Am run, and hold out in the top 5 or ten where the larger sells are, otherwise, it'll just slip down into where the sales won't have any kind of effect on her total. At least not majorly.

YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10: Break out the champagne—there will be two albums in six figures next week. Woo-hoo! Topping the chart will be the debuting Janet Jackson, whose first album for Def Jam/IDJ is moving toward 170-180k. She’ll be followed by Universal Motown left-of-center diva Erykah Badu, who should bow with 125-135k. Jack Johnson (Brushfire/Universal Republic), who spent the last three weeks at #1, will likely fall two places while chalking up a still-robust 85-90k. A third debut is next, as Webbie (Trill/Atlantic) trends toward 60-65k. Chart perennial Alicia Keys (J/RMG) will fight it out for #5 with the similarly leggy Hannah Montana 2 (Disney) in the 55-60k region, followed closely by the Oscar-fueled Once (Canvasback/Columbia) with a projected 55-60k. Michael Jackson’s Thriller (Sony/Legacy) and Juno (Rhino) are on a collision course toward 40-45k, which brings us to the #9-13 slots. The order of their finish is presently too close to call, as Amy Winehouse (Universal Republic), the debuting Shawty Lo (Asylum), the surging Sara Bareilles (Epic), Mary J. Blige (Geffen) and Step Up 2 (Atlantic) all occupy the 30-35k hood. So that’s four soundtracks in the first 13 slots, for what it’s worth. (2/29a)

How can Shawty Lo who has a moderate hit (Dey Know) debut with 30K, while his group D4L has a huge smash hit (Laffy Taffy) debut with 10K?

You just have to wait on its initial chart run and see the momentum it manages to gather..In some cases it may just tumble and then never regain any more 'umph' or in another case, it may slowly dissipate but eventually gain significant momentum over time..I am hoping for the latter so we will see!..

Janet's Discipline is demonstrably her 3rd flop in a row. And if she considers crap like "Luv" and "Rock With U" as future singles. I guess she's the captain of this sinking boat.

"Luv" and "Rock With U" aren't crap! But if those are the best singles she's got to offer than she's in trouble. Her label will play it smart and hype up "So Much Betta" probably, which seems to be one of the most popular songs on the album after "Feedback" and the two I just mentioned.

"Luv" and "RWU" are the only single worthy tracks from the album. Nothing else I can honestly see being radio hits, digital maybe, but thats not gonna be her best bet as she needs album sales.
"So Much Betta" is a good track, but mainly for its beat and the chorus. The rest of the song is kind of messy, though I love the beat. It reminds of "Gimme More". The part in the beginning where the computer is talking is like the 'Its Britney bitch', then the 5 beats, etc.

Yea, I'm surprised as well. I was hoping it would be past 2.5 million by now. The grammys didn't help that much either, but imagine if he had won album of the year.  He would have been at 2.5 right now!
