Have you been watching Girls? What do u think of this season so far?
It took some time to get going again but it was the same last season. Iowa didn't work out the way I wanted to but I think I preferred this whole "the streets are her ~inspiration" notion as she did seem out of place. Last episode was the best and really good so I def see it living up to last year, you?
Ugh stop. The effort alone that was put into the movie it's amazing.
It's really not overrated.
Hope it's gonna win Best Picture.
That's the thing - many people think that cause this movie was shot over 12 years it deserves all the awards, but I'm not gonna lie when I say that more effort was put into making Birdman, a movie that's really one of the best movies, if not the best, of 2014. I hope Academy turns out to be smart and Birdman is gonna win, just like it won at DGA Awards.

Yeah Birdman was amazing, saw it last night. But this movie might be one of my fav of all time.
It's not just a simple movie, it's like an experience. It's like I watched parts of my life in the movie, sooo relatable.
I don't even know how to put it in words
Best Picture: Boyhood
Best Actor: Michael Keaton
Best Actress: Julianne Moore
Best Supporting Actor: J.K. Simmons

Only ones I'm not sure about are Best Picture & Actor.

You know that's really the thing: People who dislike Boyhood tend to narrow it down to being nothing more than a "gimmick" and worthy of awards thanks to that but even though it's not perfect and some moments feel too scripted for a picture of its kind it is still an amazing and profound depiction of that era and growing up. If anything, that shtick underlines its message better than any typically filmed movie could have done just because.
Besides, rewarding a milestone of cinema and a movie for breaking down production norms and enforcing other studios to take on risky and less promising/grander scaled productions in future is nothing bad even if you're trying to make it sound like that.

This is my problem with the movie, it feels to manipulative and ultimately makes you think about your own life more than the actual film.

Well, Boyhood it's a good movie and it's kinda touching, but from a technical
point of view - it's nothing special when you take away that entire 12 years stunt.

Keaton was amazing, but after SAGs Eddie may take the award. His performance was groundbreaking in TOE.
