But, with Frank people forgot about the album because he hasn't done a lick of promotion for it (not even a print interview for Pitchfork or performed a song off it) Everyone on ATRL screams about ~promotion~ for their favorites who make music tailor made for the radio, what about Frank? How come he is held to a different standard than others? None of the songs off of Blonde are made for the radio and he hasn't done promotion, so it's quite easy to see how people have forget about the album after it's released, Frank has not put in the proper work to make people remember the album.

Also, let's be real, people were ~disappointed~ with the album because they thought it was going to be riddled with Black Lives Matter songs and topics like Solange touched on her album, I saw many comments like this on Twitter.

You can make an album that doesn't have radio hits and shoved with promotion, and is still remembered throughout the year ffs (Born to Die, Channel ORANGE, To Pimp a Butterfly, etc).
Frank was definitely riding off hype with critics, the whole world kept crying "bruh when is Frank Ocean gonna drop" in anticipation, so when it did drop people felt the need to be overzealous and soo happy even if when listening they were disappointed.
And as I said, he's one of the faces of the whole Urban ~good music~ movement so automatically the critics will feel the need to give it approval as a minimum.
