The only examples you gave of misogyny in rock are toothless idiots from the previous century? Misogyny in rock music is literally not prevalent at this point in time, at least not in any mainstream rock music.
Country music is just as misogynsyic as rap. Probably worse. And more homophobic too.
The only country artist I listen to is Shania so I wouldn't know! But exactly, the fact that white musicians aren't put under as much scrutiny for their lyrics as black musicians is telling.

Why do rap artists make music about getting money and fame for like 90% of their discography. Like every artist should have a few songs about their experience of fame now and then, but can't rappers talk about anything else?
Nicki for example is always talking about haters or being a successful female rapper, but how can you start off rapping about that? How can you continue to make several songs/albums about that subject without having some other topic to fill it out with?

Country music has started to get a LOT of flack for its misogyny as of late. Not as much as hip hop but it's also not as blatant and as problematic as many aspects of hip hop misogyny, country music itself isn't really that sexualized.

I'm equally annoying about it in real life, it's almost a character flaw but I LIVE for these kinds of things making people uncomfortable due to their own repressive ignorance
When you think about it there's still plenty of good American hip hop out there. It's unfair to judge the whole genre based on all the trash on urban radio.

Right? And she covers some hella deep emotional issues that apply to society on a widespread level. Like yes, you also have Anaconda, but then there's moments like All Things Go where you realize that her owning her sexuality and having fun doing it is empowering.
