I was literally JUST reading about banned Pokemon; Blaziden, Garchomp, and now Excadrill. Why is Blaziken banned? It can be taken out pretty quickly with it being a hybrid formation with the Fighting-type.

In sand, Excadrill had an effective +2 speed, whilst having the bulk to withstand most priority.

This means that in a sandstorm it has more speed than a Speed Form Deoxys with max stats.

Here's the moveset that makes it so OP:

Excadrill with Air balloon item
Adamant Nature & Sand Rush
EV = 6/252/0/0/0/252
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Aerial Ace

Blaziken is banned because of his Ability to Baton-pass Swords-dance/Hone-claws and Speed boosts.

Also STAB with Hi Jump Kick and Flare Blitz with Attack & Speed EV maxed makes it killer.

Several details may have been revealed in regards to the Elite Four in the upcoming Nintendo 3DS exclusive video games, “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.” According to a report by Hyrule Central on May 28, each member of the group won’t be using the same types of monsters for the sixth-generation of titles in the “Pokemon” franchise. Their selection will instead be based on other stats such as attack, defense, hit points and speed.
