That's LITERALLY a racist ideology. So now every successful white person only got there because of "privilege"?
And I stan for the most successful black artists in the world so..?

Saying black people have privelege is obviously ignorant but so is saying Taylor is only successful because she's white. No one (aside from Adele who's an anomaly) has done what she's done this century regardless of race.

Frank especially, EVERYONE knows Blonde doesn't deserve it's score. Everyone forgot about it and got tired of it after 3 weeks, half the world admitted they were disappointed by it when it was new and being liked.
|
But, with Frank people forgot about the album because he hasn't done a lick of promotion for it (not even a print interview for Pitchfork or performed a song off it) Everyone on ATRL screams about ~promotion~ for their favorites who make music tailor made for the radio, what about Frank? How come he is held to a different standard than others? None of the songs off of Blonde are made for the radio and he hasn't done promotion, so it's quite easy to see how people have forget about the album after it's released, Frank has not put in the proper work to make people remember the album.
-
Also, let's be real, people were ~disappointed~ with the album because they thought it was going to be riddled with Black Lives Matter songs and topics like Solange touched on her album, I saw many comments like this on Twitter.

Kendrick's mixtape with demos getting those 90s was also a mess. Who is still listening to that mixtape? Absolutely nobody, despite them giving it 5/5 as if it was one of the best albums ever.
But yeah, Nialler is still very... KyleAustin-ish, so yeah I ain't necessarily defending him.

|
I think it has more to do with the fact that when white people find a black person they like they dickride the **** out of them and everything they do

Being white automatically gives you certain advantages and privilege's that POC don't receive so yes. Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Adele, nor Taylor Swift would be as successful if they were black, hell Bieber's career would've been over and he would've been sent to jail if he were black. You stanning for Rihanna doesn't make you any less racist "I have a black friend!1!" tease

Sure music critics miss the mark sometimes and there are media biases against certain artists where good albums get panned based on public image alone (Stripped is a good example of this) but if anything, coming off of Artpop, critics would want to skew their reviews more favorably in order to create a redemption arc after a slump (see: the difference in how critics assessed Confessions on a Dancefloor coming off of American Life). If Joanne was a good album, it would be getting several good reviews. It would look foolish for critics to gas up this album that nobody is enjoying except her diehard stans.

Like, you're definitely a blind stan if you refuse to admit it's very likely that critics are SCARED to give Beyonce & Kendrick below 8/10, because of the mob-mentality and culture surrounding music today. One bad score for Beyonce and Hive will find a semi-racist tweet you made in 2010, assimilate it to you hating #BlackLivesMatter and have you fired from your job.

I don't really think it has anything to do with being black artists just with popularity and how well liked you are (It's not black peoples fault we are so superior and white people love and wanna be down with our culture so much)

This may be the first time you posted something that I agree with 100%

Hun, I was here before you were. You literally registered the month Applause came out.
The LM were on EVERYONE'S neck in 2011/2012, and anyone who was active on this site can attest to that.
Don't quote me again if you're going to call me an obsessed Gaga hater, because I have no ill-feelings towards that chick.

The 2 artists closest to her in success though are arguably Drake and Beyoncé. I think being white has definitely given her an advantage but I don't think it's fair to attribute it as the main reason for her success.

The same could be said for any artist, not just Beyoncé and Kendrick, hell Ariana stans went off on the guy from RS who gave her a bad review and demanded him to write a new one, it has nothing to do with race. Drake is black and his new album received mixed reviews.

he's recording pop songs so it's different, if he made a BLM reference his score would automatically jump 20 points
