Ester is known for her fondness for onomatopoeia and wordless chants. See: Come & Get It, her Rih sings.

Katy likes to stab at syllables. See: E.T.'s chorus, I Do Not Hook Up's chorus, Last Friday Night's verses, Teenage Dream's chorus, California Gurls's chorus. That's really the only pattern I've noticed in Katy's songwriting. Well, that and her inability to come up with a halfway decent metaphor.
