This is the biggest rhythmic station in the US (but it's very urban-leaning, it's basically like an urban station). The DJ is saying he wanted to play the song for ages, because he thinks its perfect for their audience, but his manager wouldn't let him for ages:

I totally agree with him. Some radio stations are probably scared to play her because she's female, white, from New Zealand, etc, but really the song is perfect for a hip hop station imo.

Is on the page request for the rhythmic station here in dallas(which ain't really rhythmic is urban) they play nothing but hip hop but it doesn't surprise me cuz they played rolling in the deep once it became huge, mirrors, suit and tie and also we found love a couple of times

but besides that is just hip hop.

it did well, but at least it didn't pass Bad Romance's peak AI and there won't be any boastings of it being "her biggest radio hit ever."

"Dope" has potential to be a memorable, multi-format hit if they're smart enough to release it. We'll have to see how "Venus" does, though!
