It literally was the HIT that sparked the publics true interest in her (google it). Majority of her fans have literally admitted that's when they started stanning. Like 85% of her biggest career moments, best videos, songs, eras, etc. revolved almost completely around Christ/The Christ incident. Literally the only topic that her interviews revolved around for years.

Without the Christ incident there would be no: Rated R, therefore no LOUD because it was only released after Rated R FLOPPED, No WFL, No LTWYL, No Unapologetic. Literally all her biggest things would be non-existent.
