But still What? Bob Dylan will go down in history as a legend. Do ya think he's a great vocalist? Same for James Brown, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, Jimi Hendrix,. That's why Taylor is always compared to artists of the 60's. They moved people with their lyrics /stage persona/or instrument playing artistry. Even Madonna.
I can name many many more who are not great vocalist. But they will go into some Hall of Fame. Country, Rock or whatever.
I will take Mary J Blige rawness over Mariah Carey any day who can't emote any feelings in song but Mariah is a much better vocalist.
