I'm lowkey glad she's not nominated with the amount of TRASH that slipped thru the cracks this year...

Did anyone really expect Rise to be nominated? It was such a non-event single

I have a bad feeling that we're gonna wait at least until Q2 of 2017 to get the lead single. bookmark me

technically part of the reason why katy always gets noms is success and impact, rise doesn't have any of that ( was hoping for music video though)
is dylobs ready for his permaban?

I mean at least now we don't have to sit thru another loss I guess? Like the song isn't that good so it's not gonna win & it only would've been nommed had it smashed (and it would've just lost again bc like I said it's not that good, so forgettable in her discography)
When she smashes next year and wins AOTY whew wig

Do you guys think it's the Grammys why she is waiting so long to release? I mean, if she released before the deadline, she would have been doomed. Look at the noms, Beyonce and Adele all over, she didn't stand a chance.
If she released after the deadline the chances are it would have been forgotten/ignored until 2018 so she wants to release closer to the deadline. Could this be her career's next goal?
I WANT to believe she knows what she's doing, but damn she really wasted her beautiful career, hasn't she?

as is the case with other faded pop stars she got too over confident & cocky. She thinks she's got some kind of life long legacy & people will always care about her "I earned my spot yo!"
anyways lets just hope she delivers with the album & it at least comes early 2017.......

Katy Perry releases sixth single from hit album 'PRISM', "Legendary Lovers" featuring rapper Drake. The single version features refreshed production from Max Martin to give the track a more urban leaning element, as well as a rap verse from Drake, replacing the original tribal chanting bridge which may have caused controversy for cultural appropriation. The new version of the track becomes the album's third chart-topper, spending an album-best 5 consecutive weeks at the summit on the US Billboard Hot 100. It also becomes Drake's most successful single WW. The song goes on to be certified 7x Platinum in the United States with sales of over 4,000,000 copies.
March 2015
After the smash success of yet another single from the 'PRISM' record, Katy confirmed rumours that the album will be re-released later in the year, alongside her new single "In Flames". The single debuts at #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it stays for a further 2 weeks. The song is certified 5x Platinum in the United States with sales of over 2,800,000 copies.
May 2015
As the weather begins heating up, so does the Billboard 200 album chart as Katy Perry drops her reissue of her 2013 album 'PRISM: The Complete Spectrum', mirroring her previous reissue title, 2012's 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection'. The Complete Spectrum features the following tracks in addition to the album's original line-up:
14. In Flames
15. She's So Creepy
16. Heartache Crusade
17. Spiritual
18. It Takes Two
19. Choose Your Battles
20. Legendary Lovers (Remix) [feat. Drake]
21. Unconditionally (Acoustic Version)
22. By The Grace of God (Acoustic Version)
Fuelled by sales and streams from the album's hit singles Legendary Lovers (Remix) and In Flames, it returns PRISM to the #1 position for a second week, the first since the album's original release on the chart dated November 9, 2013.
Album track "She's So Creepy", rumoured to be a retaliation song to rival pop star Taylor Swift's own diss track "Bad Blood" debuts at #30 due to high sales and streams. "Heartache Crusade", the set's other new offering, logs a #44 debut.
July 2015
Following the smash success of the reissue album, a second single, "Heartache Crusade" is released. The new single, which originally debuted at #44 as an album track, re-enters at #18 due to strong initial radio airplay, sales and streams, before reaching a peak of #5. It becomes Katy's first non-#1 Top 5 and Top 10 hit from the PRISM set. The song is certified 3x Platinum in the United States with sales of over 1,750,000 copies.
November 2015
In anticipation of the Christmas season, Katy Perry shares her latest single "Every Day Is A Holiday", an original Christmas track produced by UK hitmaker Duke Dumont. The song not only tops the US Holiday 100 and Dance Club charts, but it becomes an unexpected hit in Europe and the UK, topping various charts there, including the UK Singles Chart for a week due to strong digital sales and streams. It peaks at #22 in the US, rounding out a rather successful year of 4 hit singles and a hit reissue. The song is certified Platinum in the United States with sales of over 700,000 copies.
July 2016
Katy Perry becomes the voice of the Olympians, releasing just a taste of what the future has in store for Katy with the powerful anthem "Rise". The song, which is available on all digital sales and streaming mediums, debuts at #8 in the US, #1 in Australia and #15 in the UK. It becomes Katy's first Top 10 hit in the US since last year's "Heartache Crusade" peaked at #5. The song is certified Platinum in the United States with sales of over 800,000 copies.
December 2016
Katy Perry announces that her new album will be released sometime in the first half of 2017. After an amazingly successful 2015, which saw 3 new smash singles, a successful album reissue, an epic World Tour and a holiday classic, as well as a brilliant 2016 with the Olympics-assisted Rise, there is sure to be no slowing down for the currently reigning Queen of Pop.

It Takes Two as the era closer, with the Super Bowl hype, GRAMMYs performance, and as a great response to the Taylor's feud, reaches #1 in February 2015. 3 million copies sold in the US, white-people classic all over the world.

if there was such thing as a Grammy Repellant it would be Katy Perry so I don't understand why she's gonna risk putting her Era on the line for a ****ing gramophone, she can get a million of those on ebay. a succesful era and longevity however are something you can't buy on ebay.
