My Lana Del Rey Experience
Okay so I greeted Lana. I said Hello and she said hi. There was an awkward pause for like 3 seconds cause I didn't know what to say to her and she didn't know what to say to me, but we were just staring at each other so it was quite funny. Then I blurted some stuff out. I don't even remember what I said in the beginning. I was all like I love you I love you album, I'm drawing a picture of you..etc. Then I said that I had a midterm today, but I had to come to see you perform. She really like that and blushed. She was like "aww thats so sweet. I hope you liked it." Then I said I love when you performed Without You. It is one of my favorite songs on the album. I also said that I love Yayo as well. She said ya Yayo is from my first album." I thought that was going to be the first single." Then I finished her sentence by saying "but it was Video Games that took off instead." She laughed and giggled. I said " I love Video Games too." Then She gave me back the album after she signed it. I told her "thank you." She said "you're welcome." We stared at each other for a good 3 seconds again and smiled the whole time and said bye. We were both blushing.
The performance was much better than any other performance I saw on YT. She was very comfortable and interacted with the crowd. She is very much in control in everything she does. She listens to the fans and respects them. After each song she would say how appreciated she is of us and how happy she is because of us. It was quite touching. Personally, I loved how she sang Born To Die. All her renditions of the song are quite beautiful and you can tell that she really puts her all in this song. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her performances of Blue Jeans better than the song on the album, and this performance was no exception. I also loved her performance of Million Dollar Man. Her vocals were very good and powerful. It makes you appreciate the song more. She did Video Games and the crowd went nuts! I was sorta bored halfway through the song cause I heard her performances from YT of it. I wish she would have sung it like she did at SNL and let loose on the track. Other than that, it was like I was listening to the album track instead of a performance. So her vocals were point on. She ended with Without You. Everyone was begging her to play OTTR, but she slowed it down with Without You instead. She did a good performance of the song, but I wish she would have done OTTR instead to liven us up, but she ended the show on a soft note.
Lana Del Rey is even more beautiful in person than in pictures and videos. She is very humble and down to earth. When you are talking with her, it is like you are talking to a close friend that you haven't seen in a week. I have to say that I tried talking about myself to get her interested in me and have her ask more questions from me, but she is more concerned with herself. And I don't blame her. I would too if I was her. I say this because, when I talked about how I came from school to watch her perform, I was finishing a sentence and getting to a point but she interrupted me by asking me if I liked it. She was either trying to change the subject or she unintentionally wanted to know what I thought about it so she can gloat on it. When I said that I loved it. She blushed and covered her smile. She is an open book. While other people were getting their stuff signed, you could she how she would reach with each person. For instance there was this one guy who leaned over and talked to her close to her mouth. She kept liking her lips constantly and playing with her hair. It was quite obvious how she felt about the guy. Again, I don't blame her. He was hot. Then there was this girl who gave her a gift. She looked at it and was about to cry. She is not afraid to show her emotions and genuinely does not care what other people think about her. She is only here for herself and what ever she does is 100 percent honest and genuine.
I am glad I met her. It was not what I expected. She didn't blow me away. She is just like you or me. She is very down to earth and very humble. There is nothing special with this girl except that she has a very sweet personality and is very kind humble, and open. I love her and wish the best to her. This experience was something that needed to happen for me. It showed me what kind of person Lana is and why she is who she is. I went there to learn why I love her and her music so much. I realized that I love her music more than her. She is not a spectacle. Instead she is just an average person with small live shows instead of big sold out arenas. Because of this signing, I find that what fascinates me and attracts me most to Lana is her simpleness and ordinary personality. I love her because of her cunning and humble personality and she knows great music. She can't hide her emotions. It comes out through her face and her words. It's obvious, isn't it? That's why we love her so. It's because she is true and honest to herself and it shows in her music as well. That's why we love her music so much. Her music is very real and autobiographical. It is demonstrated with ever note she sings and she is not afraid to hide that. She is an open book and her effortless simpleness is what attracts us to her.
She also has a very soft and high voice. That's what caught me off guard at first. I was expecting someone grand and someone who thought highly of herself. Instead I met someone who was the complete opposite of that. She came off as very timid and girl next door-ish. She wasn't very special in that realm, but she was special in being simple and ordinary.
Sorry for the long read. I'm tired so some stuff might be a little off.
