The Dream probably wrote
a lot of songs, but only the hit ones, that the label felt that had potential, got recorded. Like "Umbrella" and "Single Ladies".
Anybody can write a song, really. All you need is just page of the lyrics and a demo to send to record labels. And a lawyer to make sure you won't get fooled.
