I think people over value the importance of having an "iconic" song & movie etc. For example, Titanic is far more iconic than any Queen Jolie movie yet no one remembers Kate Winslet while Jolie keeps getting referenced in culture all over the world. I've heard Can't Get You Outta My Head more often than any Madonna song yet no one knows what a Kylie Minogue is in a lot of countries while Madonna gets booked for the Super Bowl.
