Kelis has always had a very intergalactic theme in her works, from visiting Mars on her debut to the robotic whirring and alien signals on Wanderland, and this track is the pinnacle of all of that. It calls back to the past works but it takes a more refined production with a subdued, sultry vibe this time. Smooth and cool, probably the coolest thing on the album.
Diarrhoea has but one complaint, "This is fantastic, but having a song called 'Trilogy' and it not being a Skeletal Lamping-era Of Montreal song with three different one minute sections was a mistake of Biblical proportions." Look, the ideas were scattered enough on this record. Did you really want her stretching even further?
Eevee is galactophobic, sick of the space talk. "What is it with her and space? I'd tell her to change it up a bit if it weren't the best song here, the production >" Truth, the Neptoons could never.
ECNEICSNOC thinks that it sounds like "Living Proof's sexy younger sister" and even
Latinazza gives it some praise in the midst of her dragging, calling it the "best tune in this mess of an album."
