stocked up on hi-elixirs, potions, and hi-potions, also attack boosters like muscle stimulants (at first I applied them to all party members but noticed gladio did the most damage so when I started running low I only applied them to myself and him)
basically kept attacking him on the right side of his body (inner arm) and would wait for him to stagger then use armiger on his head. rinse and repeat for about an hour and a half and I beat him
just takes a lot of patience.. and resources. I used all 99 potions and around 20-30 hi-potions and hi-elixirs each
at this point I didn't have much magic? so stock up on that as well and you could probably do it faster. the reason I didn't have much was because I just decided to fight him sporadically
the only damage he does for 1/2 of the fight is always located near his head so avoid that area until you stagger him. around 1/2~2/3 of the battle he starts to move around more which takes off a bit of health but as long as you have potions you'll be fine
its so worth it, considering the XP you get (jesus christ I leveled up so much after staying at the 3x XP multiplier hotel

) and he drops a bangle(?) that increases your health to the max. so definitely give it a go as soon as you reach the last chapter and have the ability to teleport to past Lucis (after your entire party has applied better quality weapons)
///// and the reason why I, in particular, had to use so many potions was because I was using only the tomb weapons. they did great damage as compared the delta daggers I had
