What's the level? Women in music and their legacies? Or record sales? Discography quality? At the end of the day the impact & influence you leave behind makes album sales and general success irrelevant. No1curr (in the real world) about your album sales or tour sales or single sales. Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, etc,. sold like zero records and will be more remembered than ALL of our faves in 100 years and still have their music studied and examined.
This leveling has me ****ed up tbh.
Also a lot of us are biased as **** because of age/time

We're living in the
now which is crucial. So unless the old heads (50+) of this website that have lived through all these women's careers come through... It's just everyone arguing opinions more or less with exceptions (Don Don is an alright dancer, serviceable, **** like that).
And the Janet disrespect has to stop

I'd probably (actually I would at this point) put her above Mimi, Whitney (maybe not? Not that educated on her career but Chimier & Mr. Wonder have put it in perspective in previous threads for me) & Madonna since she's the only one that pioneered + jump started an entire genre and had more influence than them, New Jack Swing elements are still rolling around in music today.
Quote me about Janet being "local", "idk her in my country", "she has no classics", "R&B doesn't count" and you'll get reported.
