Here's what you can expect from this week's countdown, the 39th countdown of the year:
- Lady GaGa, hot off her performance at this year's VMAs, debuts with "Paparazzi." Can her latest video match the success of her past three videos, all of which peaked in the top 3? Only time will tell for Lady GaGa's latest...
- Michael Franti & Spearhead look to capitalize on their strong debut last week at #9. Can "Say Hey (I Love You)" make a move towards the top this week?
- And a week after regaining the top spot, Rob Thomas gives back the #1 spot on the countdown. Can Pearl Jam gain their first ever #1 video on the chart, or will Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johannson steal the #1 spot with "Relator"?
The answer to all those questions are coming up next on the countdown.

Week 40 | Mariah Carey Returns, Miley Cyrus Debuts
Here's what you can expect to see on the fortieth countdown of the year on September 28, 2009:
- It's been quite some time since we've seen both Jay Sean and Mariah Carey on the countdown with their singles "Down" and "Obsessed." But this week you voted both artists back onto the countdown. To see where they landed, you have to check out the countdown!
- Beyoncé survived a scare last week as "Sweet Dreams" barely held onto a spot on the countdown. Is the Queen B still on her last leg or did you rally behind her and vote her up the countdown this week?
- And after a record setting week in terms of votes Muse looks to not fall prey to the sophomore slump, as their video for "Uprising" fights off stiff competition from Owl City and Jay-Z. Who took home the crown the this week? The answer is just around the corner!
Also this week Chester Bennington's new project, Dead By Sunrise, make their first appearance on the countdown while Blue October returns with "Say It."
