I CANNOT at the fact that Warwick Avenue is so low on this list.

Adele - Rumour Has It
Average Rate: 7.781
Highest Score: 10 (3x)
Lowest Score: 5 (2x)
Just now being officially released as a single, and already gold - heading towards platinum - in the U.S., Rumour Has It was written by Adele and Ryan Tedder for her second album, 21. The percussive instrumentation is meant to reflect the confusion Adele experienced after she arrived back home from promoting her first album, 19.

I was like, 'Who? I've never even heard of that person? I've never even met them.' I just thought it was funny. I had to set the record straight with my own girlfriends who know and love me.

It was slated to be the third US single, but was pushed back after early callouts found that listeners of pop and adult contemporary radio took to Set Fire to the Rain more instantly. Rumour Has It has received exposure, though, having been performed on The Voice and Glee.
I think what killed this song is that the strongest part of the song - the bridge/pre-chorus - is almost killed by the lackluster chorus. Talk about a terrible climax.

Rumour Has It and Cold Shoulder should have made it further. A solid 9.
Make You Feel My Love and Hometown Glory need to go.

I like the song But am not that shocked, I dont think it's everyone's cup of tea.
The other 21 singles should be safe for a while.

Never Let Me Go is my favorite Florence song
I liked Rumour Has It a lot more before watching her DVD. It's a little annoying live.

I guess the middle echelon is going to be a dumping ground for Florence. People seem to either really love her stuff, or just not get the style. I'm prepared for the worst.

"Rumour Has It" is great, but there are simply better songs in this rate. I'm fine to see it go here; it's an appropriate first elimination for Adele, as well.

You've Got The Love and Cosmic Love can go. Maybe Dog Days Are Over. If anything else goes tonight, I'll be upset.

The next two songs again were tied, and unfortunately I had to up the song that more number ones.

Amy Winehouse - In My Bed
Average Rate: 7.828
Highest Score: 10 (7x)
Lowest Score: 4 (1x)
Coupled with You Sent Me Flying, In My Bed was released as the third single from Frank. Amy wrote this with longtime collaborator Salaam Remi, and was geeked to work with him - as he worked with her idol Nas. As a tribute to him, she based the song around the same sample as his "Made You Look" - the 1973 cover version of "Apache," by the Incredible Bongo Band. It was recorded in Miami, and its lyrics offer quite a clear picture of Amy's voice - one that would become clearer upon the release of her second album.

I know.
But Heavy In Your Arms, Drumming Song, Shake It Out, What the Water Gave Me, and Rabbit Heart are all better.

I'm oddly okay with Rumor Has It's placement. Adele can't win them all.

"Rumour Has It" was a grower for me. It used to be one of my least favorites of the album but now I like it. I gave it a 9.
Warwick Avenue deserved better.
Hopefully Mercy is top 20 at least.

Adele - Make You Feel My Love
Average Rate: 7.828
Highest Score: 10 (8x)
Lowest Score: 5 (4x)
The relationship between Adele and Make You Feel My Love is one of the most interesting of her career, so allow me:
Make You Feel My Love began it's life as an album track on Bob Dylan's 1997 "comeback" album, Time Out of Mind. It was first covered by Billy Joel, and received moderate success around the world, prompting Dylan to release it as a single himself. Then Garth Brooks got his grubby little mitts on it and released it, giving him another number one at Country radio. He got a Grammy nod for it, and Dylan was nominated in Country Song.
Cut to ...
Ten years later. Adele's manager loved the song and introduced it to her; Adele summarily cut it and put it on her debut album. It was released as the album's final single in November, originally peaking in #26. But Adele's people licensed the track to numerous television and film outlets, and it showed up in episodes of Waterloo Road, Parenthood, One Tree Hill, Hollyoaks, Ghost Whisperer, Bones, and General Hospital. It gained a following amongst industry types, but its real popularity came in the fall/winter of 2010, when it was performed at least five times on the seventh season of X-Factor UK. It re-entered the charts at #24, and the next week peaked (for real this time) at #4. Two years after it was originally released, it was nominated for Best British Single at the Brits. (It lost to TInie Tempah's Pass Out.)

I had to pause my music for this. You are all awful. But the warning points were not worth it.
