I agree to an extent, but best vocal performance isn't just about hitting high happy notes or belting.

Well one of them was lost to Whitney and another by Kelly Clarkson and Sarah McLahlan, they aren't insignificant vocalists.

I agree with this but the songs she lost too Butterfly is one of the best vocal performances of the 90s and it should have one.

Emotions was far superior, vocally, I dont like the song THAT MUCH.

and yet Butterfly is EASILY a better performance than Building A Mystery, in fact it is one of her best and most emotional ever.

Hero, an iconic song, lost to the lackluster All I Wanna Do by Sheryl Crow? At least I could have understood a song like My Favorite Mistake, but wtf?

IWALY, I would never argue against. Especially for Dreamlover.

The biggest outrage is Butterfly, which she lost basically because she was showing off her body and the grammy voters weren't down with that.
