"Words I Don't Remember" was the first taste of Tom's latest album "What Is This Heart?".
This track really made me anticipate for the album. I could totally hear this being played late nights on Kiss-FM right between R. Kelly and Maxwell. But the best bit has to be the Purple Rain-esque outro; it really has me feeling some type of way.
Oh, this song is quite nice actually! I only gave it a 6 that's pretty odd. I'd have definitely given it an 8 at least. Well, at least it came this far.
Cameo is all about motivating some emotion out of her lover but instead of it being sad and gloomy it's actually upbeat and a melting pot of instruments and sounds. We kick things off with the vereses that have a sort of bounce to it and when the chorus kicks in we get a retro, cheerful and 60′s girl group-sounding feel. Too bad you didn't open up your ears to rate her better, Kimbra's out for good but at least she made top 20.
The new wave of: 2011
If you weren't introduced to Kimbra before the smash hit "Somebody That I Used To Know' you had probably thought she would be some regular pop girl, a Katy Perry or something. Naw, this woman actually has soul, she has pipes and she's brought old sounds ("real") music back to life with a twist. She sings soul music with a theatrical spin and unique musical style draws from many different genres. She's got a huge hit, a grammy, an acclaim album under her belt and we still have "The Golden Echo" to look forward to next month.
