I'm a longtime Ellie fan but im wondering what this song being smash and all means for Ellie's career?
Her label will probably push her to work with Max and Dr Luke, more generic sound, which isn't good at all. :/
I'm not sure exactly what it will mean for the sound of her next album. Commercially, the momentum from this track will definitely turn into commercial success with her third album's sales and singles. I hope and think that she will try her best to balance a more "generic" sound with her own style.

Hrm. Well. I'm actually surprised it's still gaining so much on a Sunday, so you might be right. Hopefully the upward trend continues.
I have a feeling this is going to find its way onto #E3, just like Boom Clap found its way onto Sucker. I also wouldn't be surprised if this song's success meant more Max Martin collabs in the future.
Ellie has always had a relatively commercial sound anyway so I wouldn't worry too much about her sound being super commercial. And even if it is, LMLYD is still one of the best "generic" songs in recent times so at least we'll be getting the best of the best
