Well her first VMA performance in 1999 of "Baby one more time" it was cute but the perf is not iconic.

The rest is completely iconic ... even the "Gimme More" performance is iconic.

It will be the 30th anniversary of the VMAs, I'm excpecting a huge montage and spectacle with Britney, Gaga, Beyonce, and other huge superstars. hope they make it right and put on a show that's worth. They better, it will be the 30th anmiversary of the VMAs and the 10th anniversary of the most iconic performance in Pop Music History.

I'm making my entire family watch it and turn on every TV in the house [we have 6] I don't care about the waste of electricity. The Queen needs the ratings.

I'm looking into getting a universal control to get the neighbor's ratings too.

Sorry to burst your bubble but it won't matter. The ratings are done on a sample of TVs (you'll know if you've been selected). If its not on your TV, you'll get an application to fill to show what shows you watched. In other words, its a small amount of people who actually get included. When a show has a rating number its the pool size that was surveyed, not the actual amount of real viewers. Which makes it inaccurate, because some people will watch shows based on a bias because they're being watched.
