I completely disagree. If she wanted to, she could.
I mean, you all seem to focus on the literal worst she can do and ignore the fact that she does give a good performance sometimes still. The Circus Tour had its moments. Vegas has its moments. Whose to say the Super Bowl couldn't be one of those? As much as y'all drag her for looking old and being lazy, I really don't think she's completely turned into some sedentary boulder that can't pull some good **** when she really, really needs to.
Vegas hasn't had its moments, though. And duh, the Circus Tour did, because she was still somewhat relevant then.
"Britney" looks totally detached in her vegas performances, i'm sorry.
It just looks like she's trying her best not to mess up.
It's not a performance. She's literally shimmying about the stage moving her mouth to studio vocals from over a decade ago. How is that entertaining? Can she even talk to her audience/interact with her fans? Where is the fun? Where is the excitement? The passion? The love? It's almost heart-breaking.
What? You don't need to be a stellar performer to book the SB and do a good job. Madonna's nor Beyonce's were choreography-intensive. They had the good set list with the big last song and the big spectacle. Britney has the songs and no doubt they can put up one hell of a fiasco of pyrotechnics, fireworks, an army of dancers clad in designer clothes, and probably some animals just to top it off.
And, like I said, live singing is the exception during the SB, not the rule. Most acts lip it.
It's not. At all. Britney would NEVER be considered at this point.
We could play around with the possibilities of Rihanna, Miley (Hannah Montana), P!nk, Christina, and whatevs. But with Britney, the "what if" games don't even make sense.

+ No, Madge was the only one who lipped in recent years. Springsteen, Beyonce, Prince, The Who(whoever those r), Bruno, all sang live.
Ms.Spears can't pull off a Halftime show in her current state. Its the truth.

Its like she is a literally a robot...programed to get on stage for an hour or so and then shuts off. its a job to her. She should learn from King B. To be fair now that I look back, she isn't really a great performer. Yes she has her huge moments at the VMA's that made her shine...but other than those three or hour she isn't all that great.

Brit still gets to be a choice in all the "who should play the halftime" polls by big publications such as Billboard. Trust me in 2 years, she won't have that privilege just like Xtina. A halftime is a good career decision for her at this point, that's objective.
She's done all of what -- 5 interviews this past year? All on her flop single, Vegas residency, album, etc.
She literally said the same 3 things.
"Work Bitch is a tribute to my Gays"
"During the announcement of the Residency I felt so sick in the helicopter"
"Perfume is my favorite song, and the album is personal".
