I was really hoping that ARTPOP would be this huge EDM album. Gaga talked it up, and even spoke on behalf of female DJs...yet didn't deliver anything. I'm sure she recorded such tracks though. I really want to hear because if bet they're epic. Here for her doing EDM if it is forward thinking.

Yeah, what we got defo wasn't the immature/mature revolutionary EDM ARTPOP we were expecting throughout 2012/2013. At some point along the way, either Gaga (through her remaking the album during her post-hip break downtime) or Interscope/Troy (through fear of the music being too experimental/non-commercial) messed up what was supposed to be released.

The material from 2012 that actually made it ("ARTPOP", "G.U.Y.", "Aura", "Mary Jane Holland", "Gypsy", and "Applause", from what I know) + "PARTNAUSEOUS" and the "Ratchet" instrumental are little peeks at the EDM album that was ultimately shelved. It's sad thinking what it could've been.

Oh well, I hope Gaga doesn't try to make another EDM album. She tried, and sadly failed, so I think she needs to musically move on. So far, she's done a dance-pop album (The Fame + The Fame Monster), a rock album (Born This Way), and an EDM album (ARTPOP). Honestly, I'd be here for her doing an R&B-ish disco funk album (with the typical electro Gaga-isms spread throughout). It would slay tbh.

Dope has her best lyrics though! Let's not act like she can't write anymore these days!

But the irony of Dope being the last song added and rushed but still having better lyrics than most of her discography and she thinks she works better when given a bunch of time.

Dope is, like, the best-written track on AP, but it's bogged down by some of the most inane things she's put out
