Taylor's magazine covers sell fine. They sold about average for the year 2012 according to a WWD report. She only had bad sales for Cosmo December issue. Her Vogue cover sold above average. 1 poor selling cover out of 5 in 2012 for which sales were reported. The gossip media spun this to pretend that ALL of Taylor's magazine covers sold poorly when the original WWD article they based this on said the exact opposite and only one of the 5 sold poorly.

Also folks need to understand that March and September issues are almost always the biggest selling issues in women's fashion magazine. December sales of Cosmo will almost always sell less than March and September issues regardless of who is featured on the cover. The story could have been that RIhanna cover sold poorly or Kate Moss also had a December cover that sold poorly but the media went and made the entire thing about Taylor, cos they may pretend she doesn't sell Magazine covers but she certainly brings in the online clicks. Ironically in claiming that she was not a draw for magazine readers they proved she was a draw for online media by focussing the story on her.
Carrie Underwood got the lowest figures for Elle in 2008 when she was on the Dec 2008 cover. Also Cosmo's worst sales figures of 2008 were also in December with Jessica Simpson on the cover. So having low sales for a December issue is actually quite normal.

Also Zach O'Mally Greenburg is a good journo. I exchanged tweets with him about a Forbes article once. I expect another article from Forbes about Taylor soon.
