I had a debacle yesterday in HQ too regarding a post I made in a "Jason Derulo rides a horse" thread where I said "mmm whatcha neigh". Anyway, I thought it was cheesy and stupid enough where it was harmless, but me and everyone who quoted the post were all warned. I tried to argue about it but the mods refused to reverse it.
Then I got annoyed again about the same issue today because everyone was quoting that Gaga Applause/Lana post in the Hot 100 thread along with that gif that goes along with it. The specific post was warned, but not everyone who quoted it like in my situation. That particular post was also way more blatantly flamebait-y than mine was. I thought the treatment of the situations was rather subjective, and I asked for clarification elsewhere but never got an answer back yet. I will stop bringing it up after right now because I've brought it up a lot in several instances in the past 24 hrs but that's my honest opinion.
IDK, I'm not meshing well some of the stricter rules or some aspects regarding Stan culture. Some of the Stan culture bs really bothers me, specifically when members don't know how to have rational discussions and go straight for the "shut up you're too opinionated" drag. There are aspects about an artist that I can like or dislike at the same time. For example, I like Taylor's music a lot but not her current persona. Some people think it's all one-sided and that if you're not 100% with them, you're not at all. That's not how music is supposed to work, and it's honestly a problem that's made the music industry worse in general nowadays to the point where we accept mediocrity a little too leniently.
