Question: A lot of people(they may be pressed
) say Gaga is not a trendsetter.
Thinking about this more i'm struggling. As I think back and say, did Madonna do it all? With Madge's look, and the Erotica era she already redefined sex in music.
HOWEVER, looking closely I can see imo Gaga has redefined:
-Electropop, paving the way for it FURTHER and changing its sound originally from the clubby RnB ish electropop(ie Poker Face/Starstruck) to the Experimental king in BTW.
-Fashion, as she's Fashion Queen.
-Being weird, edgy, out there, and shock pop(look at the VMAs from 2010+ and see who followed her
)
-Religious pop, with Judas, etc
-A new definition of sexy? It can be a mind**** with that banging body and those horns
-As MTV said themselves, she paved the way for Drag performances ie VMA by being Jo in full clothing and personality throughout
That's all I can think of.
