I think what people want from Gaga now is a personal record. Something that brings her back down to earth so they can relate to the woman 'behind the aura'. There's trouble connecting because she's so otherworldly - which started off as a turn on, but now isn't.
It'll give her music depth without going conceptual, which is where she's falling down. She's had her heart broken, she's fallen in love, she's been betrayed by friends and colleagues, she's struggled with insecurities, drugs, faith and now she's experienced a hefty dose of humility through media backlash. Let that inform the music.
The trick will be finding the balance between going all Dope/Princess Die on us, yet still delivering radio candy. My feeling is she should be going rock. That way she can have the intimate, minimal ballads, the soaring power pop ballads, the angry anthems and catchy midtempos. I can see her bridging a 70s funk with pop/rock. Work with Rick Rubin, Paul Epworth, Florence & The Machine etc.
DWUW, Gypsy, Dope are good introduction. It's so sad "Gypsy" will be another cult hit it seems. Love the idea of Princess Die/Dope balance, the first song has some of her beautiful melodies.
Honestly your artistic suggestions are obviously a step on the right direction, but I'd also like to hear an expansion of the "ARTPOP" track production-wise in future albums. Say what ya'll say about the album, but its tittle track delivers.

If we don't take into consideration her past standards, maybe. I think Meowster was doing it in his question, though!
