having spent time in both the north and the south, people in the DC area don't act anything like most of the people in the south, and every time i'm at school everyone calls where i live "up north" (one guy even called me a "yankee" once lmao), so i'd say it's the north. except it's irrelevant because my college isn't in DC, i'm the central part of virginia right now

a couple years ago there was a storm and we had over 4 feet of snow dumped on us overnight and my work still didn't close. I went in and there were literally no customers the entire time
