Had that killed someone and showed you who died, it would have been a satisfying end to this mediocre season. This cheap **** they are pulling is a mess. At the very least this. Backlash will stop them from doing some hour and a half flashback episode before we get who dies.

That has nothing to do with the scene. It's already been confirmed that the murder of the chosen character hasn't even been filmed yet. They are hoping to keep it completely secret until the premiere episode. This photo wouldn't even be posted if it had something to do with the finale.
