It's going to pick up, stay consistent. If mid-through season 2 you're still not hooked. Give up.
The story is quite complicated and there's tons of characters (too much), so it's really difficult for people who are not familiar with these kind of convoluted story to stay interested.
My advice, pick a family and root for ha.
You aren't ready if this upsets you.
