82. Major Lazer - Pon De Floor
banger
73. La Roux - I'm Not Your Toy
this is my favourite from the la roux singles run as well! wasn't sure as to whether anyone else felt the same
71. Sufjan Stevens - Come On! Feel the Illionoise
my faves were casimir pulaski day and chicago from that alberm
66. MGMT - Time to Pretend
65. Sugababes - Round Round
(and above) decent choices
61. Lady Gaga - Poker Face
I used to think Bad Romance and Paparazzi were better - I was a FOOL.
they are though! bad romance, papaprazzi and heavy metal lover are gaga her trinity. poker face is an obvious fourth
56. Dizzee Rascal - I Luv U
don't know this one actually
saw him live last summer, he was really great actually
52. Hilary Duff - Come Clean

48. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor
classic!
42. Christina Aguilera - Candyman
41. Scissor Sister - Filthy/Gorgeous
(and above) two great bops
39. Amerie - 1 Thing
38. Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For?
yes yes YES to this and 1 thing
34. Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream
This is like, the best MGMT single there never was.
amazing. still can't decide whether i prefer this or we are the people
30. Kanye West - Touch the Sky
interesting choice for 00's ye. no roses, hey mama, love lockdown, flashing lights?

ugh OF COURSE
27. Fergie - Fergalicious
Like "Supersonic" but a little better, sorry JJ Fad!
yeah it's a bop
17. Beyoncé - Crazy in Love
Not her best single, that's Countdown! But this is almost as good, with a perfect bridge.
bien sur, classic
16. Jay-Z - 99 Problems
His most iconic single is his best. It captured the zeitgeist so well.
always weird but i always used to think he released it in the 90s
14. Robyn - With Every Heartbeat
The precursor to Dancing On My Own has a better song structure and more emotive vocals imo.
the one robyn song i can get behind, someone needs to explain to me why dancing on my own is so good
11. Girls Aloud - Biology
A year ago this would have been top 5. I'm sad it didn't get top 10 but those 10 songs are GOOD. OKAY?
yes. incredible
7. Britney Spears - Toxic
Needs no explanation.
i get the feeling that itz isn't your favourite britney record for some reason. well it's mine anyway
2. Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head
I dunno, I used to think it was overrated but I was really just being a hack. It's the 2000's answer to Blue Monday.
yas
1. M.I.A. - $20.
This is kinda also the 2000's answer to Blue Monday since it samples it. But it's not really an answer since it's completely different. It also samples some boring band from the 80s but it only does that to expose the shallow nature of the original lyrics.
this was one of the first ones that stood out to me when i first listened to kala (or was that arular, am i thinking of 10 dollar?) but yeah good shout. interesting.
