Funny how when tragedies happen like the Holocaust or 9/11 it's all "Never forget" but when black people bring up slavery and the lasting effects racism has today that cost black people their lives and deny us equal oppprtunities it's "Omg can we move on from the past" "Why are black people so sensitive and bring up race so much?"

I'm not saying we should forget it happened. We still honor those who died in the Holocaust and 9/11, we still remember, but we've moved on from those things as a society. That's all you can do with tragedy is move on or stay stuck in it.

People like Iggy using black culture to get ahead in this industry.. to stand out as the token white girl surrounded by black folk.. but as you can see, this "black swagga" can be turned on and off like a light switch for white people. We'll move on from it soon as we get treated equally and as human beings. Soon as a white cop who illegally choke holds a guy on camera is found guilty. Soon as black people are no longer seen as a threat and violent demonic thugs worthy of death. Soon as black people don't need affirmative action to be hired from white companies. Soon as black people aren't given harsher penalties for the same or lesser crimes as white people. Soon as the standard of beauty includes all people and not just those with the whitest skin. Soon as people stop bringing up black on black crime as if white on white crime doesn't exist either.
