I cannot defend her offending others, nor do I agree with some of her statements she has made, but wishing death upon her is just beyond wrong, she was truly born to be a funny woman and her love for show business was real, and admirable, she would've went to any length to make people laugh. I've watched her opening the Carson show on YouTube, every video I could possibly find, and multiple stand up gigs, interviews, the roast of Joan Rivers, In Bed With Joan (if I like the guest which is rare, but I've watched at least 15 episodes) (I also tried watching her reality TV show, but I just hate reality TV period. And to be completely honest, I thought it was a hot mess, Melissa just felt very awkward to watch ) I can't really imagine a world without her antics, and her ruthless humor. I hope she pulls through! She never once acted a day over 45. She really made you forgot her age, because being funny is timeless.

Although I dont agree on her war views, I do admire her career and how hard she has worked for it, I watched her documentary ' Joan Rivers: a Piece of Work ' and she really does work very ver hard, you should watch it when you have a chance, it's really good and funny

Have you seen the episode of Joan and Melissa where she got high? Quite possibly the best scene in reality tv ever, it was absolute gold

You should definitely give Joan and Melissa another go, its hilarious its not even really 'reality tv' all of the situations are heavily manipulated for comedy and every scene is golden.

Every time this thread gets updated it becomes more and more messy, there hasn't been any 'news' since Friday. We have always known that she was put in a coma (something that requires life support) and that they would be bringing her out of the coma over the weekend. The reason she was put in the coma is because the oxygen was cut off to her brain which can cause brain damage and the coma is a tactic used in a sense to combat any effects of the lack of oxygen going to her brain. I feel like the media is using scare tactics. I hope everything will be ok but I'm not going to assume anything until the hospital or Melissa gives us an update.

A medically induced one does. That's what my mom said , and she's a nurse so she would know.

The worst that's been said is there's a chance she could need a wheelchair or be a vegetable, but who knows if that's just sensationalism or there's a high risk. Anyway, it does sound quite hopeful but we won't know until they bring her out of the coma which could take a week.

Really happy to see the love and support from her friends in the industry over the years. We've always needed a laugh and Joan never failed to deliver

Poor Joan.
Her act's become a bit contrived in recent years (she told Howard Stern herself that she's basically on Fashion Police for the money) but in her prime she was the funniest woman in the business. My favourite era was the "socialite Jewess" send-up in the early '70s.

I honestly feel likes it just the media sensationalising the situation, Joan being in an induced coma is serious and in this situation the induced coma is used to prevent further damage. But the vegetable thing I don't buy it unless the hospital says something.

guys
I'm watching the extras on my Piece of Work DVD and she (Joan) says that in her will it states that she is only to be 'resuscitated' if she is able to 100% get back on stage and do an hour.
