JANET HOSPITALIZED; SNL APPEARANCE CANCELLED



EXCLUSIVE: TMZ: Janet drops out of SNL

Celebrity gossip website TMZ is reporting that Janet has cancelled her appearance on this Saturday's episode of Saturday Night Live due to her recent illness. She was scheduled to be the musical guest on this weekend's episode.

No official announcements have been made yet.

Janet was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles "late last night with a shortness of breath," Usmagazine.com is reporting.

A rep for Janet told the magazine, "Janet is fine. She's just battling this flu like everyone else."

Yesterday, in a video filmed by Pittsburgh radio station B94's morning show, a representative for Janet can be heard informing the hosts that she was suffering from a cold at the moment.

UPDATE: Patti Webster, Janet's rep, has informed E! Online that Janet has since been released from the hospital. It is unclear at this point if it was an overnight stay or just a short visit.

You probably dont know that the flu is a deadly virus that currently has no cure. It can become insanely violent on the body, and should be treated under the care of licensed professionals. It's very possible to die from the sickness.

The flu has been extremely bad this year. I had it last month and it wasn't cute. Hope she feels better soon.

I am very upset she is not performing on SNL. I was really looking forward to it.

But at the same time, her health is important as well.
