My review of "Body Language"

The first half of the album is the better half in my opinion, but that doesn't mean the second half is bad. I was beginning to lose hope as the first 5 songs were a little bit similar in terms of sound, production, and direction. The production of this album is out of this world! Her vocals over this production is heaven! Every song sort of takes you to a different place and I love that! The first half of the album is more dance oriented, and has a very retro 80's vibe to it. The second half is very funky 70's/90's RnB, and is also very moody. I love the way the album sort of splits into two. Like a part one and a part two. I actually REALLY like Body Language and I'm glad I started with it!

Her vocals are so sexy and the album has so much sex appeal. It reminds me of "In The Zone" by Britney. Very moody, funky, and retro in some places, but also very dance oriented and fun. I have to add that a lot of the songs reminded me of another song, which isn't a bad thing. Someday sounds a little like "Waterfalls" by TLC. "Cruise Control" reminds me of "How Many Licks?" by Lil Kim.

My favorite songs:
1. Cruise Control
2. Secret (Take You Home)
3. Slow
4. Promises
5. Red Blooded Woman
6. Chocolate

Overall, I really love this album! I want a physical copy right now!

Hmmmm. I don't listen to much of her '80s/'90s stuff, & a lot of fans think that Impossible Princess (1997) is her best album, but if I remember correctly, it's also her biggest flop.

My review of "Light Years"

I was very overwhelmed by the great amount of disco in this album. Each song was like "oh, another one?" It reminded me a lot of ABBA and "Waiting For Tonight" by JLO. So many uptempo disco tracks that I feel like the album never went anywhere like "Body Language" did. I honestly felt like I was listening to a big mashup. I pictured roller skating while listening to this album. I guess it's just too much disco for my liking. It's not a bad album, it's just not a favorite of mine.

I enjoyed the refreshing songs that gave the disco a break, like "Bittersweet Goodbye," and "Kids." Those stood out to me. I really liked some of the songs, it's just the album as a whole that is very overwhelming.

My favorite songs from "Light Years"
1. On a Night Like This
2. Kids
3. So Now Goodbye
4. Loveboat
5. I'm So High
6. Bittersweet Goodbye

Overall, the album itself isn't as good as "Body Language" (in my opinion), but it's not bad.

Keep in mind that I'm a starter fan, so it may grow on me more with time.
