The thing is most people expected a ballad song and the title is perfect for a ballad, people were ready to cry their hearts out for his new single, but then the song came out and it was about sex as simple as that, so they didn't appreciate from the first listen, I was one of them but when you hear it for a couple of times you realize the song is a fresh new sound and a nice track, I am sure the song will sound even better live but don't how well it's going to do on the charts.

A ballad would have flopped HARD. He would've been crucified + you'd be seeing comments like, ''Same old Bruno weeping about love...When will he ever do something different??''
-
LOOH was a risk worth taking imo. He HAD to change up his sound, otherwise he'd have ended up a Leona Lewis 2.0.
-
At least this is doing incredibly on radio, so i'm not THAT worried. A live perf or 2 should push this into the Top 5.

I am pretty sure he can come up with a couple of new ideas when he's doing a ballad song and yea haters will still hate his songs whether they are ballads or not, they're already saying on youtube that he copied the police with his new song . And I am here for him wanting to change his sound but he could have released the song as a second single, anyway no one knows what's going to happen, his live performance on SNL might change a lot of things, all we can do now is just wait.

Bruno deals well with haters. He knows they exist, but doesn't pain attention to their existence.Whatever people would say about him he will keep doing his thing.
Bruno is one of a kind in this intustry. He not only claims that he wants to chance his sound, he actually changes it. And releasing LOOH as 2nd single would be even worse, imo. Now people know he has different sound to offer them. If his 1st single was safe. many people would say WTF?! when LOOH turned out to be a single.
He's 1st era was full of surprises. 2nd will be similar 4 sure.
I just want to see his new live performance. I miss him SOOO MUCH.

Yea, I miss his live performances too, for the next few days, I am not gonna bother with the chart talking as much as I can, I am waiting eagerly for October 20.

So many promo opportunities in the next month or two.
EMAs, XFactor US/UK, AMAs... I hope he does all of them.

He should definitely perform at the AMAs, I would love to see him performing on Ellen too. And with the SNL promo everything would be perfect.

Pop Songs
Debut/Greatest Gainer No. 26 "Locked Out Of Heaven" Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars blasts back onto Pop Songs with "Locked Out of Heaven" at No. 26. Mars has reached the chart's top 10 with each of his first eight entries prior to "Heaven," half of which have climbed to No. 1. That career-opening streak is the longest among men in the chart's 20-year history. "Heaven" also charges onto Adult Pop Songs at No. 26, marking the highest entrance by a solo male unaccompanied by another artist since Rob Thomas bowed at No. 20 with "Lonely No More" the week of Feb. 19, 2005. "Heaven" previews Mars' second album, "Unorthodox Jukebox," due Dec. 11.

But "Locked Out of Heaven" isn't top 10 yet. The top 10 streak must be old news.
I'll just post it on The Receipts thread.

you got it wrong
After the first 7 days...a song is always rolling
But we usually say the 8th day effect because a song usually gains a lot on the first day and on the 8th day, the update is in reflection of the 1st day
Bruno got the massive update on his 2nd day so tomorrows update will look bad but technically it isn't bad at all

What
How this happened, he was just fine a couple hours ago, he went down FIVE places, a total mess.
This era isn't starting good, I don't even think the live performance on SNL will help that much and he can possibly fall out of top 100 in the next 10 days if he kept decreasing like that.

#22 now.
This is doing rather awfully (digitally), for a lead single, i have to admit.

Those performances couldn't come any sooner.
