The smash #1 hit song of the summer, "Blurred Lines" finally made history as it stayed at #1 for eight consecutive weeks, making it not only extending the record for the song with most consecutive weeks at #1, but also broke new record for the song with the most weeks at #1, surpassing both Rihanna's "We Found Love and Maroon 5's "One More Night", which both ended up at #1 for 7 non-consecutive weeks. "Blurred Lines" has also been a worldwide hit, topping the chart in United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Netherlands and Poland. "Blurred Lines" also broke the record for radio audience, the track reached more than 242 million listeners, making it breaking several airplay records.
The controversial video is also currently nominated for MTV VMA's Video of the Year, Best Male and Best Collaboration, it has also been one of the strongest performing songs of 2013 in this chart, extending as the song with the most weeks at #1 of the year with eight weeks, making the artist also been the artist with the most weeks at #1 of the year too.
