I was in 8th grade, it was first period. I remember my Science teacher running into my Spanish class saying "a plane crashed into the World Trade Center." We didn't have TVs, so nobody knew what was going on, we just assumed it was an isolated incident. Some people were even joking about it, saying "how the **** do you crash a plan into that big ass building?" We heard nothing else until around 12pm, when they announced that they were sending everyone home early. We still didn't know what was happening, so everyone was just like "**** YEAH, EARLY DISMISSAL!" It wasn't until everyone saw their parents to pick them up in the lobby (my parents didn't come
) that we realized it was something serious. I didn't know about anything until I got home, when I saw everyone glued to the TV. I don't think I've ever been more scared at any point in my life when I saw the first images of the Twin Towers falling. We were especially scared since we live less than an hour away from DC. Definitely a day I'll never forget.
