⚫ Overall, this effort was definitely a big step up compared to his debut! Its more stronger, and its theme covers more deep, sexual and the tracks are definitely much more diverse but maintaining its funkiness and grooviness! The overall theme for this era reminded me much off the 70's Motown feel and Bruno pulled it off effortlessly without trying too hard! Critically acclaimed and definitely an improvement especially as a concrete mark of him being a quality artist
2009: Utada - "This is the One" 2011: Natasha Bedingfield - "Strip Me" 2012: Maroon 5 - "Overexposed"
⚫ Singer songwriter Sara Bareilles never disappoints with the output and material she puts off her album and this one is another testament to her lyrical/vocal talent! Piano pop at its best! Its more deep and poetic compared to her past albums! Having said that, its not as instant as it is, but as a whole, it is a pretty strong album! Its highlight though is that the album is a shocker of being nominated at the 2014 Grammys! Kind of an unexpected choice for nominee but I can see it why it was picked! Deserved!
2009: Jessie James - "Jessie James" 2011: LIGHTS - "Siberia" 2012: Linkin' Park - "Living Things"
⚫ Another Mimi-tinged lite delivery from Miss Ariana Grande Butera! I am totally so into this rather than its overrated lead single It reeks and borrows definitely some tune elements of a regular bop pop songs from the late 90's to early 2000s production! And with its production, Ariana's vocals are perfect throughout the song and when she reaches those high notes! I just cant help but compare them airy vocals with the likes of Mariah Carey! I love the outfits she used for the video! One minor complain though is I just noticed that Ariana ALWAYS! LIKE ALWAYS is in a side view position when facing the CAM Hmmm
2009: The Pussycat Dolls - "I Hate This Part" 2011: The Black Eyed Peas - "The Time (Dirty Bit)" 2012: Mariah Carey - "Triumphant (Get 'Em)" (ft. Rick Ross & Meek Mill)

THE SATURDAYS - "Disco Love"
WEEKS ON CHART: 9 weeks (still charting) PEAK POSITION: #05
⚫ This song is ear candy even if at first listen! Its tailored for being a pop radio formula! Not necessarily disco-ish or anything! but the catchiness off this song is its greatest asset! Loved the Britney and Beegees references! Just like the song, the video depicts the girls time warping such decades on pop culture and it is incorporated on the different scenes off the video! The girls' vocals are amazing and definitely perfectly layered to its production!
2009: A.R. Rahman - "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" (ft. The Pussycat Dolls) 2011: Natalia Kills- "Wonderland" 2012: fun. - "Some Nights"

HAIM - "The Wire"
WEEKS ON CHART: 8 weeks (still charting) PEAK POSITION: #04
⚫ This was the first grower song I've had from them, while the rest of their singles are instant love! Initially, this song was just okay-ish but then there's something about its simplicity and quirkiness that makes it stand out! It just feels so organic and not pretentious in my opinion! I then decided that this tune have such appeal factor that makes it worth replaying! It has got that country-barnish sound that you expect on Cowboy films or so!
2009: Taylor Swift - "You Belong With Me" 2011: Colbie Caillat - "Brighter than the Sun" 2012: Marina and the Diamonds -"Primadonna"
