94/100
Key Tracks: E.T., Wide Awake, Teenage Dream
Katy Perry easily avoids the sophomore slump with her second album, Teenage Dream. The album starts off very strong with one of the best pieces of pop music to ever grace our ears. The title track, "Teenage Dream," not only is a piece of ear candy, but it's music for the soul. The lyrics are a beautiful description of lust and love between a new couple. The song itself is unbelievably catchy. The album then moves on to the album's party anthem, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," a track we can all dance to. The song's only downfall is eventually you will get sick of it, and it will eventually fade into the generic pop genre. Then we go into the album's lead single, "California Gurls." This track is another freakishly addictive piece of pop. It was easily the summer jam of 2010, and still continues to slay all other summer anthems. Billboard claims "California Gurls" is the biggest summer anthem of all time. The album then takes a strange turn into "Firework," a beautiful song with puzzling lyrics about plastic bags and loving yourself. I must admit, the bass on this song is killer. However, I do get bored with it after a while. The album then does a complete 180. After an emotional moment of loving yourself, we now have a lustful moment of loving penises in "Peacock." The cheerleader-inspired dance club hit is undeniable. It's quirky lyrics and ridiculous beat is an earworm, but it's a strange song. Then comes "Circle the Drain," a song full of energy and emotion. Katy curses out an ex who loved drugs more than her. I love bitchy Katy. We need more of her. This is also the song that resembles her debut album the most, with heavy electric guitars and some rock influences. Next comes the lovely "The One That Got Away." The drum beat on this song is enough to get anyone going. However, the lyrics on this song are the reason this song stands out. The lyrics are gut wrenching, and I'll admit this song has brought a tear to my eyes before. The stripped versions just strengthen that. Then comes "E.T.," which has become one of my favorite songs of all time. How can you not love this song? It's more than amazing. It's epic! "Who Am I Living For?" continues the trend set by "E.T." of dark, creepy dance pop. This track is the underrated track of the album. The strings are so amazing. Next comes "Pearl," a decent song about growing up in a sheltered life and finally getting to break through. Cute song, but not a highlight. "Hummingbird Heartbeat" is next. It's "Teenage Dream"'s cousin. Here, though, the lyrics talk about sex, rather than lust. I love the comparisons in this song. It makes it just so cool. The album then ends with "Not Like the Movies." It's a very beautiful song, don't get me wrong, but I get bored with it very quickly.
Now, apparently this score includes the re-release, which I was against from the start. The re-release first gives us a generic leftover, "Part of Me," which is a good song for the first ten times you hear it, and then it just gets on your nerves. However, "Wide Awake" comes next. This is easily one of Katy's best songs hands down. A delightful melody, lovely lyrics, and decent vocals. I love it! The re-release ends with the hot mess that is "Dressin' Up," a song that should be rated "X." Have you heard those lyrics? "You wanna pet my kitty? / You're such a dirty doggie" WTF? However, it is a hot song, even with the messy production.
All in all, it's an amazing album. One of the best pop albums to be released in a long, long time.

Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection
Score: 58/100
First of all, can I just say how atrocious that album cover is? I guess there's a new trend of making horrible album covers (PF:RR and BTW). Anyways, I believe the album is a step down from Katy's debut, One of the Boys. The album begins with fan favorite Teenage Dream, also the title track. I honestly never liked the song to begin with. The second song, also the fifth single, is Last Friday Night. I used to love the song until it got overplayed on the radio, and I just got sick of it. The next two tracks are other singles(California Gurls and Firework). I like Firework, mainly for its beat, its lyrics are cheesy and silly, though. The album's fifth track is Peacock, which I also never liked. Its childish/playful/repetitive lyrics has always irked me. Circle the Drain is the next song, and I always skip it when I'm listening to TD. The next track is another favorite of mine, The One That Got Away. Sure it's kinda cheesy, but hey, it's catchy. E.T. comes next, and it's my favorite off the album. Something about it.. is just so enticing; but the song does get compared to All the Things She Said. The remaining songs on the album are honestly filler, with the exception of Hummingbird Heartbeat and maybe Not Like the Movies. Then we go to the Complete Confections bonus tracks. The bonus tracks are only three "new" tracks, the remixes Katy used to try to get her songs to number one, and a megamix of the singles. The three new tracks are forgettable, which is probably why they were Teenage Dream rejects. Part of Me is the first one, which is probably the most generic song out of the three. Wide Awake seems like E.T. 2.0. I would enjoy WA more if she didn't repeat "I'm Wide Awake" every three seconds. Dressin' Up seems forgettable, but not as much as POM.
Overall, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection is just another pop album with some catchy songs and filler. But, the re-release was useless, unnecessary, and stupid.
Top Tracks: E.T., Firework, The One That Got Away

I like your score and all but you really didn't take about her songwriting or anything and you repeated "Boring track, skipped it" more then she repeats "wide awake" in Wide Awake
"The remaining songs are filler" what reviewer says that and you can't review a song badly cause it was overplayed on the radio
But hey, whateva, your score is nice

Top Tracks: Dressin Up, Circle the Drain, LFN(TGIF) Feat. Missy Elliot
Review: The album is filled with 19 tracks that goes from pop, ballads, rock-pop, etc in a sweet mod. Unlike some albums, you can't find a single filler beetwen the tracks. You won't even bother to skip a song cause you'll love the catchy tunes of Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night, California Gurls, the dark vibe of ET, Circle The Drain and her sweet but sad vocals in Pearl and NLTM.

Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection
Score: 83/100
Key Tracks: E.T (feat. Kanye West), Teenage Dream, Who Am I Living For?
A bittersweet album. Fun... we know that she can do way better (look at the key tracks) but she plays safe with **** songs like California Gurls, Peacock ( ) and Last Friday Night (vastly improved by Missy Elliot). Great vocals on TOTGA (acoustic) & Wide Awake and some great / funny lyrics all over the album. I've learnt to appreciate every track.
She got what she wanted, time to move on.
(Let's not start on how ****** is "Part Of Me")

Album: Teenage Dream
Top Tracks: Who Am I Living For?, Teenage Dream, The One that Got Away
Score: 78/100
Teenage Dream is a little guilty pleasure of mine . The first single, California Gurls, was a huge let down compared to the amazing singles that One of the Boys delivered. However, once I've heard the title track, Teenage Dream, I decided to give the record a spin. As a whole, the album lacks some attributes that made One of the Boys one of the most solid pop album from that year. That's not to say that the album is horrible, after all a lot of its tracks are in my library. One of my favorite tracks from the album, Who Am I Living For?, is probably one of Katy's best. This electro-pop-ballad also contains one of the strongest lyrics on the album. It's just sad that I discovered way too late, but better late than never. The next gem would be the title track itself, this song was an instant favorite of mine upon first hearing it, it's quite innocent in its own flirtatious way. Continuing on with that "memory lane" concept, The One that Got Away is another gem of the album, the thumping beats accompanied by the child-like piano riffs that tinkle in the background gives off this image of a child observing a parade, with that imagery, they greatly compliment the lyrics of the song as the singer thinks back about "what could have been." In between, the album also offer listeners wide array of songs from the orchestra driven anthem, Firework, to an 80s throwback song, Circle the Drain. Overall, while the album may not be Katy's best, it is still quite solid and truly deserved all of its accomplishments.

Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection
Score:71
Top Tracks: Firework, Hummingbird Heartbeat, and Part of Me.
Katy Perry is back with more Fluff n Pop. Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection is a solid pop effort. Many tracks on the album are easy ear candy, and it's no wonder: they're equipped with catchy hooks and relatable lyrics. Katy takes us on a journey to find magic seeds on track Hummingbird Heartbeat, which is really a perfect example of what Katy does best. Fluff Pop. It's fun with just a hint of sexual. She takes us back in time towards the Teen Dream full of romantic highs and lows from tracks Teenage Dream, the title track, to Not like the Movies. She empowers us with tracks like Pearl, all equipped with references to Jeanne D'arc! There are other tracks that come off as underwhelming such as: Circle the Drain, Who am I living for?, and Wide Awake. They leave me wondering how they managed to make the album cut. They're cacophonous despite the songwriting being on par. So, all in all, solid effort from Katy with a few bumps in the road here or there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you just give a score for Femme Fatale too? If I'm wrong, I'm sorry!
Regardless, if I'm also correct, your input/score won't be counted towards the average because you didn't follow directions in the OP (at least 5 sentence review + list the top 3 tracks).
Not trying to be rude!

85/100
Top Tracks : E.T, Teenage Dream, Wide Awake
An album with great highs (the Top Tracks) and disgusting lows (Peacock, California Gurls). Lyrically and production wise, it’s nothing special, but Katy makes up for it by making it both fun and catchy. It’s an album you listen to when you want to cheer yourself up or just want to scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs in the car. And that’s all Katy really wanted with this album. The main problem with Teenage Dream, like most catchy albums, is that it gets old fast. I can't honestly tell you the last time I listened to The One That Got Away or Calfironia Gurls or Last Friday Night. Very few of the tracks maintained my interest for very long, the rest just became dull songs that I would skip over. Hopefully she has gotten her fill of candycoated tracks and will move on to a more mature sound. If she doesn’t, well…I’m still young enough to have fun belting out Firework with my friends in the car.

Teenage Dream
Score: 96/100
Teenage Dream is definitely the definition of the perfect pop album. It's broken many records. It really has a lot of good songs, and frankly it got Katy recognized more than One of the Boys did. The only complaint I have is "Who Am I Living For?". I mean yeah, her vocals are very good, but it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the album. The first track is Teenage Dream, and I enjoy how it relies a lot on her falsetto for some of it, which really adds a nice affect to it at the beginning, and let's the song grow as it gets closer to the chorus. The next song is Last Friday Night, which is a good song, and the thing I like about it is the saxophone solo during the bridge, but besides that the song doesn't have too much to offer beside an amazing music video. Next up is California Gurls, which I seem to be one of the only Kats that still enjoys the song a lot. It's just so infectious like most of her music these days, and it still hasn't gotten old to me! The next song is Firework, which is one of my favorite songs on the album which tells you that you're perfect just the way you are and in fact you shine in your own way. The next record, Peacock, is definitely just or fun...I hope. It has an amazing beat, but you may just end up laughing too hard at the lyrics, haha. The next one is Circle the Drain which tells the tale of a relationship where the man is addicted to subtance abuse. It's really quite different, and in fact, this song is a lot better of a break-up song than Part of Me. It has a nice guitar hook to it, and it adds in a bit of rock-and-roll to the album. Another record is The One That Got Away, which has some very remarkable lyrics, and tells a story of a true love lost. The acoustic version of the song is so much more powerful than the normal one, it slows it down and the message makes more of an impact, plus her vocals are just heart-breaking...the next song is ET, was definitely a great song for Katy. The reason why I think it was so big was because it sounded different. It had a different beat, a unique pop sound, and really adds a different kind of flavor to the album. Next is Who Am I Living For?. In all honesty, they should have put Dressin Up or Wide Awake in it's place, it just doesn't belong on the album... Next is Pearl, which sends a great message that you don't need anyone to complete yourself, and you're the one in charge of your life, not you husband, boyfriend, etc. Then, it's Hummingbird Heartbeat, which I like to call 'the single that never was'. It really would have dominated the charts with it's great beats and vocals, there is no doubt in my mind that she could have gotten that last number one with this song, even with funny lyrics. The last song is Not Like The Movies, which is one of my other favorites. It's a more pulled back song which focuses on her falsetto a lot if the time, which makes the song absolutely stunning, and the lyrics are flawless. It was the perfect way to end this album...
And then she added the Complete Confection... I do like the new tracks, but it still should have ended with Not Like The Movies...The first new song from the rerelease is Part of Me, which had a massive debut at number one, but after that week, all music turned that style, so it ended up being more of a generic song. The second song, and the last of my favorites is Wide Awake. This song is a mid-tempo ballad describing falling down from the high of love. It's lyrics are amazing, the beat is amazing, and her vocals are simply flawless! The last song from the rerelease is Dressin Up, which is designed to be a party song, describes...okay, I'll just say it flat out. You dress up in costumes and act parts to make bumping uglies more desirable. Some of the lyrics are pretty clever, but that beat just takes the whole song by storm.
It's an amazing album, and it will definitely be remembered.
Top Tracks: Firework, Hummingbird Heartbeat, Not Like The Movies, and Wide Awake

I've noticed on the actual metearitic, the ones that have a lower score do commercially better, like sure MBDTF got a 97, but it didn't have huge hits like stronger, Katy got like what, 55? 57? And scored 6 #1's off of it

Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection
SCORE: 40/100
TOP TRACKS: Teenage Dream, Not Like The Movies, Hummingbird Heartbeat
Ahhh - Katy Perry, our generation's Paula Abdul. Except she can't dance. And only maybe one of her songs will be playing in your local Applebee's in twenty years time. Yes, Katy Perry eagerly demonstrates how disposable #1 singles can be. The best part about this? They're catchy. They're fun to listen to. They're sweet. But just like cotton candy, which Ms. Perry rightly scented and designed her album around, it's all just light and fluffy, melting in your mouth to nothing of substance, and sometimes leaving you with an artifical aftertaste and ****ed up teeth (is this why so many KatyKats are superficial and vain... with braces...?). Regardless, there's no denying the Dr. Luke hitmaking machine. Regardless of whether or not Katy's #1 hits will stand the test of time long enough to cement her a performance slot at your local casino in 2030, "Teenage Dream", "Last Friday Night" and um, a couple more album tracks (?) are delicious bubble gum. You can chew on them for a couple years until they lose their flavor and then you have to pop in your next, newer piece of sugary pop. The rest of the songs on this album? Store-bought cotton candy made with Splenda, and frankly, my palate isn't here for that. Here's to the next album, Ms. Perry.

Top Tracks: Teenage Dream, Not Like The Movies, Wide Awake
Review:
Perry really hit the mark for this one. It's not trying to be what it's not, it's pure fun.
From the opening track Teenage Dream, the album submerges you in a pure adolescent paradise.
From the nostalgic opening strums of the guitar to the powerful drum beat, it's an amazingly produced song. And her vocals pull it off. The streak of well written simply pop tunes continues with California Gurls, Last Friday Night, and Firework, which has a nice touch, being an inspirational anthem.
Although the album is sweet, it does have some substance. Perry channels a softer, more vulnerable figure in Pearl and Who Am I Living For.
Overall, an amazing pop album. I will wait for the day when we get another masterpiece like this.
I can't write reviews.
