Just got back from watching this film... it is amazing!!! they do stick to the book, but I felt the beginnig seemed a bit rushed... even though the film is a bit long I felt like they could've included some of the little bits they cut out

Agreed. A couple extra scenes really would've helped but no matter, jennifer portrayed the exact emotion l pictured in the book & the death scene was very sad. l cried
Just wanted to add, l absolutely loved the scene where katniss thought peeta died & was looking for him. my heart was in my mouth.
Saw tha midnight showing,LOVED IT OMG. Tha theater had 5 different shows all 5 minutes apart and only one of them was half full. Tha others were PACKED. But tha good SIS Rue
The theatre I went to had 8 midnight showings and when I got in line at 8:30, they finally let everyone in around 10ish, the line was MORE than halfway around the building, and the theatre is HUUUUGE! I was like 'whaat' but when I got in, I got great seats with my friends so whateveeerr.
BUT, I give it a 2/5. They tried, but you really can't fit a detailed book into a 2 1/2 hour movie.
WARNING SPOILER:
They focused TOO much on the pre-games and not enough on the actual GAMES. I know in the book it dragged out, but I would have liked to see more fighting. Everything was just so rush rush.
The ending PISSED ME OFF! They rushed that thing like it was a timed presentation you have to give in class and you only have 30 seconds to conclude. It was WAY too rushed and the way they ended it with the president wasn't good enough, they could have done it WAY better.

I think it's quite normal to feel rushed especially for book-turned-movies. They probably wanted to fit in as much details/scenes from the book as possible
Just got home from it, I loved it. I'm kinda sad they didn't include some things, but I guess that's what you have to do to make the movie shorter. I'll definitely rate it 9/10.
Am I the only one who liked the end? Like, not the last minute, but I loved how dramatic the scenes were right after the arena. It was all just so fake Capitol and you could totally see that after all, they're still not safe, imo.

I loved that too, especially when Seneca Crane went into that room with the berries.
I was looking forward to that. I'm excited to see the Rue/Katniss relationship as well. Poor Rue
