Bad update for the country charts..
Why isn't she promoting at all? I remember during Carnival Ride/Play On her face was everywhere.. but it seems like she thinks it'll it chart based off her name..

Seems that way.. they're apparently just saving all the promotion for the album itself. But from the looks of it this is shaping up to be her worst charting single on the Country charts and HAC is slowing as well. I know it's still early and it'll regain some steam, but after the lukewarm reception from the audience at the ACM's and the fact that it's stalling on the charts already is not a good sign. Neither the medicore video or the ACM's seemed to help the single too much on iTunes so I'm not sure the public is here for this song? It actually burned on me really quickly.. I'm wondering if that's how it's resonating with radio listeners as well? Time will tell, I guess. I'd hate to see a lead single end up being one of or THE worst charting song for her.

LOL several songs are having bad updates on country, esp because of the Kenny Chesney/Tim Mcgraw song that is being played on top of every hour on a lot of radio stations...this is a similar situation to that of Born This Way on the Top 40 format, it slowed down a lot of songs, literally killed Britney's HIAM, etc.
Anyway i'm not worrying that much, Country Radios won't stop playing Carrie's songs suddenly, hell all of her singles have gone at least top 2, she's a huge force in the Country world, so...
Also, the song is already gold, one of her fastest selling song ever

Many singles slow down in the positions #8-#11 on the country charts.. it's not uncommon. And there is a big single by Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney out now, which has HUGE airplay and is already almost top 10, most singles have been getting bad updates in the past few days due to that.
What do you mean by ''lukewarm reception from the audience at the ACMs''? Everybody knows it wasn't Carries best performance, no big deal..
The video has helped the single stay steady and it even went top 15 some time again. The single is 2k away from gold, and will be another platinum single for her, which for a country artist is still big and I'm sure it will go beyond ''just'' platinum.
I can't say it will hit #1, because some stations may just not want to play it, as it is probably the least country song she's ever released, and it's more rock then country. So I'm a little worried as well. Only time will tell I guess.

Besides everything that has been said, it wasn't even released to HAC, so, if it's slowing down, we should not worry. It's still gaining though
Also, the performance was very praised by lots of people. Personally, I hated the performance, but the general public seemed to like it.
Videos are not boosting songs like they used to, unfortunately. You see several songs that had a ****** boost from videos, but still, they performed very well.
And I think the pubic is here for the song. GG is selling pretty well.

Also it has to be said that unlike other people Carrie is not a Hot AC staple, her songs don't usually cross over (BHC the exception), so the fact that GG is charting on other formats (with just radio stations wanting to spin the song, not even an add date) is just something to praise and be happy about!

Sis, it gained AI. The Tim/Kenny duet is slowing down a lot of songs. Unless it falls for several days(AI and spins), we should not be worried.

Oh, I'm not saying it's flopping or not selling well.. just that for a lead single I think it's early for it to be stalling. BUT I don't follow Country charts as closely as pop, so if it's normal for songs to stall around #8-11 then maybe nothing is wrong at all. And yes the ACM performance got good reviews, but the audience didn't stand or really seem to be that into it, nor did iTunes sales really seem to reflect much interest. That's all I meant by that.
I'd love to see GG hit #1 on Country just like everyone else, I'm just worried that's all. The fact that it burned on me so quickly makes me wonder if it is on others as well.
And I don't think we can blame Tim & Kenny's huge song for other songs (including Carrie's) receiving bad updates. It's only one song that's taking up one position on each radio station.. they have plenty more room to play other songs.

It didn't have a good boost because Carrie opened the show. Many people missed her performance and were asking when she was going to perform, but she already had.
And of course we can blame the duet lol They have a radio deal. Several stations are playing it every hour. Every. single. hour (that's so wrong). Of couse it's going to slow down some songs. You can see the country charts. Several songs (potential #1's) had spins loss. Not only Carrie.

exactly, we follow country charts everyday, i've been following them even before i started to like Carrie, so trust me, the Country format is slow as ****...Lady Antebellum 3rd single released in late December is just now in the top 4, Carrie's song is a lot newer and is already top 10!
Who cares about the audience at the ACMs really? anyway they were just into Jason Aldean and Miranda, the other performances were still received in a good way tho
Oh trust me, we CAN blame that song, that's moving spins from other songs which were being played heavily, esp those of the whole top 10.

I know, right? The ACMs had a 'small' audience. The smallest since 2008. And the show was sooooo predictable. I would not waste my time watching it when I already know who is going to win. I for one only wanted to watch Carrie's performance, and I still managed to miss it lol

Ok cool (Still disagree about the Kenny/Tim song taking THAT many spins away.. but that's another topic). I didn't mean to start anything here FYI, I want her to succeed that's why I stress.

i don't get why it's so hard for you to agree about the Kenny/Tim song, as i said it is a similar (but at the same time different) situation of BTW on the top 40 format; HIAM and a lot of the songs of the top 15 started getting negative updates, since they were heavily played before the Interscope deal with radio stations, so BTW just took their spins.
