SINGLE REVIEW:
P!NK, “BLOW ME (ONE LAST KISS)”
P!nk’s first single, “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”, is an electro pop-rock stomper that is sure to dominate the radio the remainder of the summer season. The song is not quite as vulgar as the title may suggest, but P!nk certainly doesn’t withhold the expletives in this aggressive break-up anthem. And boy, IS IT EVER a break-up anthem!
The song kicks into an instrumental with a slight electro influence that offers a refreshing, funky twist to her typical winning formula. “White knuckles and sweaty palms from hanging on too tight,” the song kicks off at a relaxed pace, “Clench of jaw, I’ve got another headache again tonight”.
From there, the song kicks off to a building rapid-fire as it enters one of the pre-choruses, “Eyes on fire, eyes on fire, and the burn from all the tears,” it’s building and building with every line, “I’ve been crying, I’ve been crying, I’ve been dying over you”, building(!), “tie a knot in the rope, trying to hold, trying to hold, but there’s nothing to grab so I let go.”
And that’s when we get the first hit of the chorus. It’s of the grand soaring sing-a-long nature that we would expect nothing less of. P!nk is full of conviction here, “I think I’ve finally had enough, I think I maybe think too much, I think this might be it for us (blow me one last kiss)”. If you haven’t noticed by now the song’s lyrics are slightly more serious than the standard P!nk lead-in. Don’t worry P!nk still has plenty of wit in her delivery, just most subdued – it’s a good look in my opinion. The production also helps ensure maximum rock-ability. “You think I’m just too serious, I think you’re full of ****, my head is spinning so (blow me one last kiss)” The next lines feature a shout-back, as if it needed to be even more commanding of attention, “Just when I think it can’t get worse, I had a **** day (NO!), you had a **** day (NO!), we’ve had a **** day (NO!) I think life’s too short for this, I’ll pack my ignorance and bliss, I think I’ve had enough of this, blow me on last kiss.” The chorus is involving and super catchy – smash!
“I won’t miss all of the fighting that we always did,” the second verse leads in again and a return to the calmer side, “Take it in, I mean what I say when I say there is nothing left”. But oh wait – the pre-chrous kicks in and it’s building again, “I am sick, whiskey-dick, no more battles for me, you’ll be calling a trick, cause you’ll no longer sleep, “ Ouch. “I’ll dress nice, I’ll look good, I’ll go dancing alone, I’ll laugh, I’ll get drunk, I’ll take somebody home” Don’t hurt em! Cue that explosive chorus.
The bridge features a little instrumental with some ad-libs and an occasional “blow me one more kiss”, before hitting yet another pre-chorus to send em off with. “I will do what I please, anything that I want, I will breathe, I won’t breathe, I won’t worry at all, you will pay for your sins, you’ll be sorry my dear, all the lies, all the wise, will be crystal clear.” And there’s that chorus again with some awesome ad-libs – oh and some “lalalananana”’s or something to that effect.
Some would say P!nk has played the role of the underdog, not just artistically but commercially; commonly taking the back-seat to the Britneys, Beyonces, Rihannas, and Gagas that have commanded radio and press over the last decade. However, if the success of her Greatest Hits project is anything to go off of (“Raise Your Glass” went #1, and “****in’ Perfect” #2) P!nk will have all eyes on her as she drops the first single to her sixth studio album.
“Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” is the kind of song that is gonna ensure that her recent successes are only gonna continue and grow. It’s radio-friendly, it’s memorable, it’s empowering, it’s very P!nk and it’s a lot of fun!

Pink: Motocross Mommy
Showing support for her hubby Carey Hart, Pink hit up the Mammoth Lake Monster Energy Motocross race this past Sunday (June 24).
Joined by her baby daughter Willow Sage, the “U and Ur Hand” songstress looked excited to be in the same place where she proposed to Hart back in 2005.
Later in the week, Pink was in Malibu, California where she filmed a new music video at a secret outdoor location.
The video is for her upcoming single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” and included a motor bike with a side car and plenty of Pink’s signature attitude.
Nick Florez @FlorezNick

Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
White knuckles and sweaty palms from hanging on too tight
Clench of jaw, I’ve got another headache again tonight
Eyes on fire, eyes on fire, and the burn from all the tears
I’ve been crying, I’ve been crying, I’ve been dying over you
Tie a knot in the rope, trying to hold, trying to hold, but there’s nothing to grab so I let go
I think I’ve finally had enough, I think I maybe think too much
I think this might be it for us (blow me one last kiss)
You think I’m just too serious, I think you’re full of ****
My head is spinning so (blow me one last kiss)
Just when I think it can’t get worse, I had a **** day (NO!)
You had a **** day (NO!), we’ve had a **** day (NO!)
I think life’s too short for this, I’ll pack my ignorance and bliss
I think I’ve had enough of this, blow me on last kiss.
I won’t miss all of the fighting that we always did,
Take it in, I mean what I say when I say there is nothing left
I am sick, whiskey-dick, no more battles for me
You’ll be calling a trick, cause you’ll no longer sleep
I’ll dress nice, I’ll look good, I’ll go dancing alone
I’ll laugh, I’ll get drunk, I’ll take somebody home
[Instrumental - ad-libs - blow me one more kiss}
I will do what I please, anything that I want
I will breathe, I won’t breathe, I won’t worry at all
You will pay for your sins, you’ll be sorry my dear
All the lies, all the wise, will be crystal clear
CHORUS
